if you are wondering what the artist wanted to tell you by choosing this title, we will give you a small hint: its a cynical statement on something that for sure every party promoter has experienced at some point. the rest, we will leave up to your imagination in real life, theres no mercy neither is when it comes to the sound of this new snork release by syntax error. the four new tracks with meaningful names are not only a social criticism and another artistic processing of the current development of the techno scene, but also a classic syntax error: rough, tricky and good to groove. each track stands on its own, telling another story. collateral cosmopolitan is a straight forward piece with a highly memorable beat talking about the uniformity that is creeping in the waiting lines of more and more techno clubs. i wear my grandpas glasses presents a totally dodgy sound, which might be a little oldschool and even a little irritating just like some fashion items you encounter on todays big city streets. no fog is no solution is a tight song that definitely needs some good fog and a harsh strobe. and finally, the last track sounds like a futuristic fairy tale from outer space looking on the world as if it is a society bathysphere.

fouk might have been curating outplay since 2013, but their butterfunk ep is in fact the duos first proper ep on their own imprint. its not that theyve been resting on their laurels: they ve drip-fed a handful of eps on the likes of heist and house of disco over the past few years, and released solo efforts on kolour ltd and razor n tape that stormed the charts. it s been fascinating to see the dutch pair slowly break the mould, moving from heavy sampling in favour to an emphasis on original instrumentation and production. the butterfunk ep is fine showcase of their prowess in the studio, loaded to the hilt with contemporary dancefloor funk. things kick off with the rolling drums, off-beat percussion and seriously infectious hammond lines of organ freeman. title track butterfunk is aimed squarely at the hips with its smooth keys and perfectly placed vocal, while some acid lines give the track a little edge. flip over for the bumping wong way, a chunky workout with a rubber bassline. the finale of the ep is winter, a fantastic slice of 80s inspired downtempo mushroom jazz.

unsurprisingly, richard galling, does indeed hail from milwaukee, having released disco inspired jams since about 2012. with his stuff getting plays on the likes of beats in space, he got his name out early. his latest offering is this single that features two original tracks and some remixes too. 303? features the eponymous bass machine all over this deep, arpeggio-heavy tech-disco jam, organ swaps the 303 for a classic robin s-style house organ, and prophet adds some big room bass. also included is a prophet version of clear water, a real late 80s, shep pettibone-style, latin house joint. luke solomons body edit, is absolut dancefloor heat !!

ben jacobs aka crackazat first made a name for himself when he was still living in bristol and released on ep on the city s futureboogie label, which has also signed music from the likes of julio bashmore, crazy p and outboxx. early in his career crackazat was also the official warm up act for an at the time up and coming artist called floating points, who now needs no introduction as one of the world s leading electronic music producers. moving to sweden shortly after the futureboogie release, crackazat made contact with the local talk owners mad mats and tooli, and after a couple of single/ep releases signed his debut solo album crescendo. the last couple of years crackazat has had an explosion of global popularity, which has led to playing gigs all over the world, and releasing tracks and remixes on labels ranging from josh wink s ovum, joey negro s z records and eureka in japan. classically trained with a strong jazz influence, crackazat has a distinctively individual sound that fuses funk with soulful vocals and the electronic bass music associated with his former home of bristol. eloquent and intelligent, rainbow fantasia is a masterpiece that showcases one of electronic music s most exciting talents.

nigerias kingsley bucknors just u and me lp gets the long-awaited reissue treatment from melbournes left ear records. after cutting his teeth playing with fela in the 70s and releasing two afrobeat lps kingsley travelled the globe before finding himself in london, its here that he laid down 6 distinctive electro-funk tunes inspired by african rhythms and music hed heard through his travels in the states and in europe. originally issued on kinglsleys own kab records in 85 and according to kingsley the release was well received at the time, but due to constraints of international marketing the record remained mostly unknown outside of his homeland. fast-forward to 2017 and the stage is set for a new global audience to appreciate the distinct sound of kb.

nice price deal !!! following our quest for inventive approaches within the sometimes tired and highly commodified house / tech house / techno / minimal or whatever you call it scene, we ve gone this time for landesvatter. regardless of having already signed a few full lenght lps on the highly esteemed normoton as well as on under_line and others, joachim landesvatter prefers to keep a low-key atittude. he offers us two great tracks, each one followed by a very special remix. the original of nome is a highly bouncy digitech house track for the dancefloor, with an infectious sinewave to keep you hooked from beggining to end. the remix of nome, in charge of arp aubert (marco niemerski aka tensnake & stephan lorenz) who run the great mirau musik, comes on the form of a hysterical dub house track that literally puts >the roof in the air<. we recommended for full effect to keep the volume on the red. as usual, the second half of the release follows at a quieter pace. hausse is a track on a out to lunch tradition, greatly influenced by detroit but at the same time distancing itself from the current plethora of nostalgics. in-house duo taron-trekka closes the package with a deep remix, rich on freaky jazz touches. we lack words to describe it.

kanja records is sincerely honored to present its sixth vinyl release, based on a concept called sunday mornings. with this series of releases we will focus on that warm up, early morning, after party gems and slowly fading away from peak time music. our philosophy behind this concept is that the focus goes to the tracks being timeless, and music that you can listen to in every time of day and night. music that offers a vast variety, but in the end coming together in that sweet and warm morning glory. bidon by university of nowhere was definitely our first pick for the first track on this release. nice warm pads and steady broken beats are becoming a trademark for their production. astral control by maurice giovannini perfectly sits beside our opening track with its laid back mood and again nice moody pads. insen gathway by widovski, an opening track on our b side, with nice minimalistic grooves, warm pads and freaky background ticks, surely deserves a spot on this release. defenders of prisma by gabriele carasco and enzo pietropaolo is the final track on this vinyl release. a really special track, which has a very mysterious and sentimental vibe and nicely rounds up our sixth release.

nenas feuer und flamme (german for fire and flame, with the additional figurative meaning of great enthusiasm) was released in 1985. its the third album by german pop band nena and the fourth studio album of its singer, gabriele nena kerner. the album was a success, reaching no. 2 in germany.
prompted by the success of 99 luftballons (1984), which included english-language versions of songs from the bands first two albums, nena recreated feuer und flamme in english as its all in the game (1985), with lyrics by canadian singer lisa dalbello. the experiment failed commercially and was not repeated with the bands next album. gabriele kerner recorded a new bilingual german-english version of anyplace, anywhere, anytime with kim wilde in 2002.

nena (1983) is the first album by german pop rock band nena and the second studio album of its singer, gabriele -nena- kerner. the album was a great success in west germany and the second single -99 luftballons- a fable of nuclear war brought about by a bunch of balloons in the sky being mistaken on radar for a pre-emptive missile attack- successfully reached #1 in the music charts in the u.s. and worldwide.
the first nena album was released as part of the music genre called neue deutsche welle, new german wave movement in the german music. all five members of the band contributed to the songwriting. they were a unique group of musicians with a strong intuitive grasp of both classic pop and rock formulas. nena insisted that she saw herself as a member of the band and not as their leader.
the album is still regarded as an unsurpassed classic of german pop history, although most later nena albums are not far behind in quality.

fushara aka thushara goonewardene is a london based electronic musician working with breakbeats, samples and synthesiser. a constant theme for his music is urban decay. from the late 90s fushara has been involved with the london scene as a raver, dj, and producer. he has produced experimental work for labels such as pineconemoonshine, mjazz and more recently scientific recordings. in 2015 he set up an imprint lone foundation to showcase experimental bass music collaborating with daat and others. more recently he has made a return to work with breakbeat collaborating with infest for one of his tracks on his debut on criterion records and has signed to flex recordings for a forthcoming ep. here he makes his bow on 7th storey projects with two amen-driven monsters - the a side features ascension , an epic roller with industrial atmospherics and haunting vocal snatches. this is backed up with nerve on the b side, a nine and a half minute militant amenistic assault that hits hard, just the way we like it! we re delighted to welcome fushara to our roster of talent, we are sure you will be hearing plenty more from the man going forward!

today, we are glad to introduce you to our tone series remix series. one and a half years after the launch of the parent label, tone series has released five eps (consisting of two tracks each), all composed by french musician david k. and almost halfway between the first release ts10 and the last one ts01 (ts06 came out at the beginning of september 2017), we thought it would be interesting to ask artists we like to reinterpret one of david s creations.as a result, we re delighted to present you as 1st ep (tsrs01) of this tone series remix series: dipe (ts09) re-drummed by french music composer and dj traumer as well as winter bells (ts06) remixed by japanese artist tomoki tamura, both artists getting the ball rolling for this new soulful and colourful series.

recently, superpitcher was invited to go on a safari in south africa. he bought a custom made safari hat at his favorite milliner in cologne (jü,,,rgen eifler) and set off with big eyes and a pair of binoculars. it was wild and wonderful and he saw many exotic (and big!) animals, even a leopard in a tree that told him the secret of the universe. he forgot what the leopard said because his mind was still playing and replaying the sound of what he heard on the first night of his arrival the hypnotic and moving sound of the voices of africa, the voices of the wonderful tanda tula staff choir. there, the choir members work during the day at the camp and at night entertain the guests with their captivating voices and energetic dancing. so impressed was he with their songs and beautiful shangaan language that he decided to record a cd for them to sell in the shop at their camp and now this precious recording is also available through hippie dance / bush recordings on vinyl and cd for you in whatever wherever camp you are. the lp of the tanda tula choir comes with a very pretty poster.

hanna is the soundtrack album to the 2011 british-german thriller film of the same name, directed by joe wright. the film stars saoirse ronan as the title character, a girl raised in the wilderness of northern finland by her father, an ex-cia operative (eric bana), who trains her as an assassin. cate blanchett is a senior cia agent who tries to track down and eliminate the girl and her father.
the original score was composed by the british pioneers of big beat the chemical brothers, who had 6 number 1 albums and 13 top 20 singles in the uk. nme ranked the album at number 54 in their list of the -61 of the greatest film soundtracks-.
the soundtrack of hanna was nominated for multiple awards and eventually won an alliance of women film journalists award in the category -best film music or score- and a los angeles film critics association award for -best music-.

the ep consists of a selection of four heterogeneous tracks in terms of intensity and mood, and each one being singular for different reasons, but yet coherent by the round-around-the-edges production style they have been executed in their creators personal imagery and unorthodox approach to the techno genre.
the warmth and empathy who seem to be the driving force behind noro vanish and leave place to insanity and darkness present and growing throughout lothar. on the flip side, the eponymous track shows a rave-like up-tempo beat being outweighed by the sadness of its melodic elements, until finally in crimson, a quiet and unstoppable force pushing us out of the abyss until we reach the initial point again.
